Food and engineering sciences are getting more and more popular as new challenges arise in the field of food quality and safety, as well as in the food chain. The food chain consists of the processes of growing, preparing, packing, transporting, and providing/serving. The school focuses on developing expertise in the scientific research of nutrition-related topics, including obesity, diabetes, digestive, heart and circulatory diseases. Food quality and food-related physiological impacts have become an important issue in the international research of this field, especially pharmacological changes that can be applied in clinical practice. Nutrition therapy includes a wide variety of medical treatments, food-drug interactions, scientific questions related to nutrition, and nutrition issues related to various pathological conditions. The University of Debrecen offers this doctoral program as an opportunity to study these subjects.
