Overview

Our research is focus on syntax, morphology, semantics, and pragmatics; as well as in the more interdisciplinary fields of computational linguistics, discourse analysis, first and second language acquisition, and sociolinguistics. The Linguistics Department at Debrecen University has one of the most productive laboratories in Hungary and is an active participant to the international research community. Our courses are designed for both students and professionals wishing to gain more knowledge on a variety of fields.

To be accepted into the PhD program, prospective students must submit a complete application including an application form, syllabi of previous courses, transcripts of undergraduate and graduate studies, research proposal (In English), two letters of recommendation/reference by academic colleagues and defend their motivation letter in a face-to-face interview (at University of Debrecen).
