A public health supervisor's work is a bit like being a detective. They investigate epidemiological crimes and analyze the data to figure out what happened and how to prevent it from happening again. They need to have a deep understanding of hospital hygiene, how diseases are spread in hospitals, and how to disinfect and sterilize in order to be effective in their jobs. They plan and realize nosocomial surveillance, monitor the health status of the population, and plan, organize, realize, and evaluate preventive programs. They are able to participate in planning and delivering policies and programs, that aim to influence the health of groups of people at local, regional, and national levels.
