Health Tourism Management, BSc

Overview

Graduates of the Health Care Management BSc with Health Tourism Management Specialization program take part in organizing and managing health promotion activities, preparing projects that aim at developing health tourism and strengthening international cooperation and participating in the implementation of tourism development programs of the European Union and other regions. The specialty provides the necessary knowledge to create health tourism, health preservation, and curative and rehabilitation programs.

Syllabus

• In the first year, students will focus on core health science subjects, like Anatomy, Physiology and Pathophysiology, Basics of Preventive Medicine, Health and Society, Systems of Healthcare Institutions, and Health Insurance. However, there will also be a number of health tourism-specific foundation subjects offered, like Leisure and Tourism Studies, Health Tourism Products, Medical Tourism, and Introduction to Health Tourism.
• In the upper grades, the focus is on teaching specific subjects related to health tourism, such as Health Destination Development, Experience and Service Design in Health Tourism, Sales and Marketing in Health Tourism, Spa Management, and Event Management. This allows students to gain a more well-rounded understanding of the industry and prepare them for a career in health tourism.
• The seven semesters revolve around field practices and thesis work. After a successful final examination and the defense of the thesis work, students receive a BSc degree certificate in Health Care Management with Health Tourism Management.
