Overview

Dietitians are experts in human nutrition and use their extensive knowledge about diets to design and carry out diet therapy for diseases caused by improper nutrition. They work either independently or as part of a medical team, and their tasks include individual and group counseling, preventing nutrition-related chronic and non-contagious diseases, and creating diet plans according to the client’s sensitivity and disease.

Syllabus

• The first year of study for a BSc in Dietetics is focused on basic health sciences subjects, such as anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology, public health, and epidemiology.
• In the second year, students begin to take more specialized dietetics courses, along with practical laboratory and clinical practices.
• The fourth year is devoted to field practices and thesis work.
• To successfully earn the BSc degree, students must pass a final examination and present and defend their thesis project.
