Program Description

Overview

The Conductor Teacher is an education specialist who helps people with motor disabilities to live as independently as possible. The conductive pedagogy is based on the Pető-method and has a special focus on nursery school and primary school children. Additionally, the Conductor Teacher is a teacher who can teach in any nursery school or primary school. Conductive education is an approach that looks at all aspects of a student's development and how they interact with each other. The conductor is the person who leads conductive education, and their goal is to help the student develop in all areas. This person works with the student group and designs and monitors the course of education.

Syllabus

In the conductive pedagogy BA program, students take their first practice classes during the first week of the semester. The theory side of the curriculum covers subjects from social sciences, medical sciences and pedagogical sciences.

  • The first two semesters focus on building a foundation with courses in pedagogy, psychology, IT, foreign language, and conductive pedagogy.
  • In the second year, students take neurology courses and more specialized courses in pedagogy and conductive pedagogy. They can already choose their specialization for nursery school, primary school, or pedagogical rehabilitation.
  • In the third year, they focus more on neurology, communication, pedagogy, and medical biology. In the final year, they study the legal and ethical aspects of conductive pedagogy, alternative methods, and rehabilitation.
  • In their fourth year, students spend almost every other class period practicing with real children in actual social environments. This gives them the opportunity to put their knowledge and skills into practice, and to learn how to adapt to different situations.
