Round 1: Ednius – Revolutionizing Education with AI
The first round tasked teams with analyzing Ednius, a Simon Fraser University spinoff startup leveraging AI to provide automated feedback and grading assistance for university professors. Sapphire Consulting showcased their analytical prowess by dissecting the case and formulating innovative solutions within a tight five-hour timeframe. Their outstanding presentation earned them first place in their division, propelling them to the final round.
Round 2: TransLink – Transforming Transportation with Digital Twins
The final round presented a complex case study involving TransLink, Metro Vancouver’s regional transportation authority. Challenged with addressing escalating ridership and congestion issues stemming from rapid population growth, TransLink sought digital transformation solutions, particularly in digital twin technology. This cutting-edge technology enables predictive maintenance, real-time service optimization, and enhanced passenger experiences. Confined to their hotel rooms for 24 hours, Sapphire Consulting meticulously analyzed the case, developing comprehensive recommendations. Their 15-minute presentation to a jury panel, including TransLink representatives, secured them a well-deserved third place, following the University of Manchester.
