Study Human Resource Counselling - Hybrid Form at University of Szeged

This program provides a comprehensive education in Human Resource Counselling, focusing on a blend of essential disciplines that prepare graduates for professional roles in HR advisory positions. Key areas of study include management, consulting, psychology, and social knowledge, equipping students with critical skills for effective career counseling and client support in navigating career transitions.

The curriculum encompasses various foundational topics such as:

  • Societal Structure: An exploration of social structures and stratification.
  • Career Planning: Courses designed to cover both career planning and management strategies.
  • Ethics: An examination of business ethics to foster responsible decision-making.
  • Group Relations: A focus on group dynamics, leadership theories, and their applications.
  • Communication Skills: Development of interpersonal communication and negotiation skills necessary for effective HR work.
  • Organizational Development: Training in change management and human resource management practices.
  • Counseling Theory and Practice: Instruction in counseling frameworks, methodologies, and practical techniques.

The program's structure includes a practical-oriented core curriculum that spans seven knowledge areas, supplemented by four elective subjects and three segments of hands-on professional practice. The educational experience balances 40% theoretical instruction with 60% practical application over 915 hours across four semesters. Students also have the option to participate via a distance learning format, with online classes complemented by practical skill development at their current workplace. Mid-career participants may be eligible for reduced practical requirements based on their previous experience and acquired knowledge.

Graduates are well-equipped to pursue careers in Human Resources, Career Counseling, and Community Building, reflecting the diverse skills developed throughout the program.

Required Documents

Admission Requirements

  • An Undergraduate / Bachelor's Degree (or higher) is required.
  • The degree should be in relevant fields such as pedagogy, psychology, sociology, or human resources, accompanied by an official translation in English.
  • Evidence of 30 relevant credits must be submitted, covering subjects including pedagogy, psychology, sociology, economics, or law.
  • Proof of English language proficiency is required, with a minimum level of B2. Acceptable certifications include English language exam results or an IELTS score of at least 5.0.
  • Applicants must participate in an entrance exam (interview) as part of the evaluation process.
  • Results from the application review will indicate the admission decision.
  • Entry qualification documents must be provided in English and sent directly to the designated institution via postal mail only after acceptance. Verified copies should be submitted, not originals.

Language Requirements

  • Applicants must demonstrate English language competence, which will be tested during the entrance examination.

Other Requirements

  • At least two references must be provided, ideally from academic or professional sources who can vouch for the applicant’s qualifications for the program. If the referee has a minimum of three years of professional experience, their recommendation may be acknowledged.
  • A motivation letter must accompany the application. This letter should articulate the applicant's enthusiasm for the program, their career aspirations, and how the program aligns with their professional goals.

Who Should Apply?

  • The program is suited for individuals who possess:
    • Academic records showing the completion of at least 30 credits in relevant fields such as pedagogy, psychology, sociology, economics, or law.
    • Proof of English language proficiency (minimum B2 level, with acceptable language tests or an IELTS score of at least 5.0).
  • All applicants must successfully pass the entrance exam (interview) to receive notification regarding their admission status. This will also trigger the tuition fee payment instructions for the first one or two semesters, depending on the applicant's residency.
