Admission Requirements
Prospective students interested in applying for the graduate program must meet the following criteria:
- Entry Qualification: A graduate or master's degree (or higher) is required.
- Language Proficiency: Applicants must demonstrate at least a B2/intermediate level of proficiency in Hungarian, certified by an accredited language examination. Additional knowledge of English or German (reading and understanding) is also beneficial.
- Academic Background: Ideal candidates should have a background in theoretical, historical, typological, or applied linguistics. Degrees in Hungarian language and literature, Foreign languages, or Theoretical/Applied Linguistics are advantageous.
- Documentation:
- English language academic records or certified translations must be provided.
- Original entry qualification documents should be presented upon arrival at the university.
Application Requirements
- Submission of a research proposal, along with a consultation with the doctoral school and a designated supervisor prior to application.
- Two reference letters are required. Applicants must provide the contact details of the referees, who will be contacted to submit their letters, or they may upload these letters directly along with their application.
- A motivation letter must be included.
- Additional required documents include a transcript, proof of language proficiency, CV, and a list of academic publications.
Interview Process
Applicants will be interviewed either online or in person in Szeged.
