The Doctoral School of History encompasses four distinct programs: Ancient History, Medieval Studies, Modern History, and Comparative and Contemporary History. These programs delve into a variety of historical topics, including the history of the Roman Empire and ancient India, as well as Hungary's development during the pre-medieval era and the Middle Ages. Additionally, there is a focus on the history and archaeology of the Eurasian Steppe, early-modern Hungarian history, and the intricate relations between the Habsburgs and the Ottomans, along with studies of the Mediterranean world and contemporary social and political histories.
Scholarly research within this school spans several fields, including cultural studies, various paleographic scripts, popular culture, the evolution of ideas, political thought, and historiography.
