Humanities and Social Sciences programs at the University of Pecs provide students with critical-reflective thinking skills necessary to understand the socio-cultural context of their work. Social workers promote the development of democratic social relations and social integration.

Syllabus

• 1st semester: Introduction to Social Studies, Learning-Centered Communication, History of Roma.
• 2nd semester: Contemporary Roma Art, Music, and Literature- Overview, Language Practice I. (Boyash lexis), Introduction to Sociolinguistics, focusing on Bilingualism
• 3rd semester: Sociolinguistics I, Ethnographic Studies on Roma Communities.
• 4th semester: Cultural Anthropology of Roma, Gypsies.
• 5th semester: Contemporary Roma art in Europe, Analysis.
• 6th semester: Language planning, language policy, Specializations, Specialization in Boyash language and culture, Specialization in Romani language and culture.
