Regional Development PhD

The goal of the program is to develop skilled professionals in regional development. This goal will be achieved by providing a solid theoretical base and allowing students to conduct independent research within the framework of the program and receive regular feedback.

Overview

The Program aims to support students in developing the skills and knowledge needed for the successful completion of doctoral dissertations in the field of Regional Development. This is done through providing supervision, feedback, and resources that assist the student with independent research.

Syllabus

• Semester 1: Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Statistics, Introduction to Scientific Research
• Semester 2: Regional Economics, Development Economics, Econometrics, Research Seminar 1
  Electives (one module is compulsory): Tourism and Local Development, Regional Governance
• Semester 3: Regional Development policy, Innovation, Networks, and Economic Growth, Empirical Research Methods 1, Research Seminar 2
  Electives (one module is compulsory): Universities and Regional Development, Invited top international expert in regional innovation in Europe
