The Francophone Master's in International Relations at the University of Szeged is designed for an international cohort of students, particularly those from France, Hungary, Central and Eastern Europe, the Western Balkans, and North Africa. This academically rigorous program, conducted in French, emphasizes two distinct areas of specialization: European Studies and European-African Development.
The European Studies specialization addresses the complexities surrounding European integration, equipping students with a comprehensive understanding of the political, legal, and economic dimensions of the European Union. In contrast, the European-African Development specialization delves into the intricate relationship between the European Union and Africa, focusing on critical development issues facing the continent.
This program places significant importance on fostering analytical and communication skills alongside the acquisition of specialized knowledge. The structure is designed to facilitate a progressive deepening of expertise, beginning with foundational courses in European topics such as institutions, historical contexts, key players, and policy frameworks in the first year. The second year emphasizes practical experience, culminating in a professional internship ranging from 3 to 6 months, complemented by a final dissertation presented as an expert report.
