Serbian Language and Literature MA

The Master of Arts in Serbian Language and Literature at Eötvös Loránd University is a comprehensive 2-year program designed to prepare students to become well-trained specialists in Serbian philology. The program provides a strong foundation of knowledge in areas such as Serbian literature from its early period to the present day, grammar, the history of the language, linguistic theory, sociolinguistics, textology, lexicology, stylistics and phraseology. Students will also gain proficiency in written and oral Serbian to develop their communication skills.

The curriculum consists of a basic common component (60 credits) as well as an optional specialization (22 credits), finishing with a thesis in their chosen subfield of study. This program is an excellent opportunity for those who have a special interest in the Serbian language and want to pursue careers in fields that require specialized knowledge of the language or related aspects of Serbian culture.
