Intensive Hungarian Foundation Course

The Intensive Hungarian Foundation Course at Eötvös Loránd University Preparatory Foundation is the perfect way to quickly gain the skills and knowledge required to pursue academic or professional opportunities in Hungary. This two-term course provides students with a comprehensive education in the Hungarian language and culture, allowing them to effectively communicate in their target language environment and comprehend factual texts both written and read.

The first semester focuses on building the necessary tools that will help students manage communicational situations arising in the target language environment. In the second semester, students are provided with a full formal system of Hungarian which includes topics such as independent written compositions, language use for expressing opinions, and gradually developing their reading comprehension abilities to independently process texts. Additionally, cultural lectures offer an overview of important events such as Hungarian history, literature, linguistics, folklore, cultural history, and sociology which are held in English.
