The MSc in Geography at ELTE is a full-time, two-year Master’s degree (120 ECTS) taught in English, offered by the Faculty of Science in Budapest. It is designed for students who already have a Bachelor’s degree in Geography or a related field (such as Earth or Environmental Sciences). The programme has strict English proficiency requirements (written and oral at level C1) and asks for a motivation letter, transcripts, recommendation letters, and other documents as part of the application.
In this programme, you deepen your understanding of how natural, social, environmental, technical, and spatial processes shape our world. You’ll also gain skills in geographic research, mapping, spatial analysis, and environmental assessment, among others. Graduates can go into research, governmental or NGO work, environmental planning, urban and regional development, or continue to PhD studies.
